If you download any of the xxxxSETUP.EXE files, WinZip is not required. The various xxxxsetup.exe files will install the version of the CD you purchased and create a desktop shortcut icon as well. It's quick and easy.
This applies to Windows-based operating systems only. I understand .ZIP files are compatible with Apple operating systems but I do not own an Apple so I cannot give exact instructions.
Once you have downloaded your purchase or update as a .ZIP file and saved it to your hard drive, you will need to either set up a shortcut (usually on your desktop, Start Menu, Task Bar or the Quick Launch Toolbar) or you can set the appropriate index.htm (or .html) file as a Favorite or Bookmark in your preferred Internet browser.
I will use the 1966/1967 Chevelle Reference CD update or download file (6667cd.zip ) as an example but the same procedures apply to any updated or downloaded CD.
Unzip the 6667cd.zip file you downloaded and extract to whatever folder you like. In this example the folder will be named "c:\6667cd" and located on the root of your c:\ drive. Once unzipped you will see several files in this folder and multiple folders containing the information. The file you want to reference in named index.htm.

This procedure may vary slightly from Internet browser to browser. Firefox uses the term "Bookmark" where Internet Explorer uses the term "Favorites" but both are the same thing, a pointer to a browser based file, in our case the file is the index.htm from the downloaded .ZIP file. As before we'll use the 6667cd.zip file as an example and assume it was unzipped to the folder 6667cd on the root of your c:\ drive.
Open Internet Explorer.
On the Menu Bar, select File then Open...
or press Ctrl+O
Type the location of the index.htm file, or use the Browse button to
locate the file, and click OK.

When the correct file has been opened, click Favorites
then Add to Favorites
Open Firefox.
On the Menu Bar, select File then Open File...
or press Ctrl+O
Type the location of the index.html file, or use appropriate
navigation to locate the index.htm file and select it then click
Open.

When the correct file has been opened, click Bookmark
then Bookmark this page
